Mike Scully band - Coming Soon

Mike Scully (@mikescullymusic) is an American singer-songwriter currently performing in the SoCal area.
Mike was born in Ventura, CA and was inspired to write music after sobering up at the young age of 16 when his girlfriend at the time became pregnant. Today, Mike lives with his three children in Simi Valley, CA where he continues to write and perform music.
It was only in the last couple years that Mike decided to get serious about his art and grasp a foothold in the music industry. This decision has lead to sold out shows in the LA area including iconic venues like The Whisky A Gogo, Molly Malone's, The Canyon Club and many others. Mike has also opened for some big name acts such as John Waite, Don McLean, The Temptations and will be opening up for Blue Oyster Cult in January.
As remembered in his original song "Open Arms" when Mike was four years old he learned that the man and woman he thought to be his mother and father were actually his aunt and uncle. He then was removed from there home and placed in the custody of his mother and new step father.
Mike spent the next six years with them and his step sister moving around the country from Arkansas to Hawaii and plenty of places in between. That time in Mike's life would be filled physical, verbal and sexual abuse. Songs he's written like "Truth" and "Book Beside my Bed" briefly touch on those experiences.
In order to cope with his reality Mike turned to the use of drugs and alcohol at a VERY early age. And though it served as a temporary release from his life it also destroyed any chance he had for a peaceful and successful future.
Until one day his girlfriend Danielle Harding (who he met in fifth grade and later reconnected with) found out she was pregnant. From that day July 14th, 2006 Mike has not touched a drink or drug.
Mike got serious about music after working with a therapist and attempting to deal with some of the traumas of his childhood. This is when music became a source of healing for Mike. And his writing since then has become more and more deep and personal.
Mikes EP will be released in early 2019.
Mike is influenced by artists like Ray Lamontagne, Jason Isbell, James Taylor and many other singer songwriters.
