Chad Baker Starts @ 6PM
Born and raised in Akron, Chad Baker discovered at a young age that country music was in his blood. Brought up in a home that nurtured his musical talents as a child, he pursued his passion, performing and writing songs in his youth and teens.
By 14, Chad was playing open mic nights and local dive bars regularly, scoring his first "real gig" by the time he was 15. Through high school, he and his band played every local club that would lend them a stage at their age.
After graduation, with $400 in his pocket and a big dream in his heart, Chad’s country soul pulled him to Nashville where he began a long and sometimes challenging path of paying his dues. He spent his days working whatever gigs he could book and his nights busking the corners of Lower Broadway.
2015 saw Baker and a friend on a self-booked acoustic tour to California. This would spark the start of his next venture in 2016, the "Wild West Acoustic Tour". With six months of planning and preparation, he did 22 shows in less than 2 months, spanning 16 states west of the Mississippi. Summer of 2019 brought a full band tour back to the western United States: 15 shows, 17 days and 7,000 miles in total. That’s three national tours to date, and he’s opened for prominent artists such as Josh Thompson and Sundy Best. With the release of new music and plans for a sophomore album, Baker continues to tour locally, regionally, and nationally.
